A Mega Fan’s 100 Poster Milestone

Last Sunday, I got an email from super fan Chad Breshears who informed me that he had hit a milestone in his poster collection. With the purchase of the IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS poster, he had purchased 100 posters from us since our humble beginnings so many years ago. Chad has also assembled a website of his collection and dedicated a page for his Alamo collection. Take a look at it HERE.

It’s really interesting to look at how the poster series has evolved over the years. Take METROPOLIS for example:

Metropolis 1998

METROPOLIS 1998

Metropolis - Gold Variant

METROPOLIS- GOLD VARIANT 2009

I want to make this a recurring thing on the blog, so if you have framed any of our posters in your house, apartment, office, screening room, or wherever, send an email to Justin (at) MondoTees.com. I really loving seeing what people have done with them and I will feature them on the blog. Thanks so much for the support over the years, everyone!

An impressive accomplishment. And so many I’ve never seen before. I’d love to get my hands on one of those horizontal box THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE UGLY posters. Who’s the artist on that one?

Damn – he is still missing a few. Definitely the best (Alamo) collection I’ve ever heard of. A few come to mind – Blazing Saddles, Breakfast Club, Carrie, 2001, Hedwig…. etc.

It would have been awesome if the Drafthouse had kept 1 from each run to have the complete collection. Maybe put them up in an art gallery eventually.

    Micah,

Those three posters for The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly were done by Billy Perkins. If you click on the title underneath each poster it will give you more detail about each poster.

  4. Micah says:

Thanks Chad. Somehow I missed that. I was just clicking on the images themselves.

  5. Chad says:

    No problem,

Glad you guys like the collection.

    AWSOME!

Simply awesome. That is one of the better collections I’ve seen if not the best.

Wow, fantastic. I have only just recently discovered these posters from Alamo drafthouse. I have been a collector of film posters for 10 years but had never known about these. they are really fantastic, and from all the research I have done on all the forums, collectors sites etc., this is by far the most impressive collection I have ever seen. Bloody fantastic, the guy deserves a medal for collecting this lot.

Chad, please can you contact me at all. I searched through every page of your site and couldn’t find a contact for you anywhere. Well done.
