Dan McCarthy is well known for prints that depict vast landscapes, but more importantly, he’s great at conveying mood. For this reason, we thought he’d be perfect for the scene on Hoth in EMPIRE STRIKES BACK where the Probe Droids infiltrate the Rebel defenses and alert the Empire to their whereabouts. Notice the streaks in the sky as they enter the atmosphere…this is literally the calm before the storm.
We were thrilled to work with Dan and think this is an amazing submission for the series. Keep an eye on the site as we will be having more coming at you soon!

I just bought mine, this piece is really great!
I just nabbed this one. It’s so rare that sublety and Star Wars collide….Dan’s work is fantastic, and this poster is gorgeous.
When it sells out in 13 minutes, seems like a sign that the limited edition might be a little too limited. Any chance of seeing this print come up again, either from Mondo or from the artist himself?

What part of ‘limited print’ means there will be a matching ‘unlimited run’? You might be able to get an unlimited version from the artist himself, such as the version of ‘Big Trouble in Little China’, without the ad for the Alamo screening etc.
Limited prints are explained in the title. Limited, as in ‘not many of them’. Da Vinci didn’t do an ‘unlimited print run’ of the Last Supper even though a few folks might have complained..

@everyone new to the game: Welcome to the wonderful world of poster collecting. The short answer to your question simply, no. If you slept on a release you don’t get the release unless you wanna pay flip prices.
The longer(ish) answer is outlined by Justin (he runs mondo) under the “info” tab at the top of the site:
“I slept on a release and now it’s sold out. If I ask nice, will you reprint them?
All of our posters are limited editions and will NEVER be reprinted. So, in other words, if we say there will be 200 posters printed, that is how many will exist on the planet. We recommend that you follow us on Twitter or subscribe to our blog so you get the news on when our releases are going down.”

Problem is, I subscribe to the blog and never get notified when the sales are coming. Nor do I get the newsletter I signe dup that also tells us when to keep our eye open. My requests for information directly to thes epeopel have also gone unanswered. I’m all for reading and following the rules/outlines, but let’s be a little more realistic about how easy it is to get the right information from the right person…
