Rich Kelly is back and he brings us our newest offering in the STAR WARS series…Attack Position!
Poster by Rich Kelly. 24″x 36″ screen print. Hand numbered. Edition of 400. Printed by D&L Screen Printing. Click HERE to buy.
Rich had this to say about his design:
“When I was approached with this project, a considerable amount of artistic liberty was encouraged. After re-watching the original trilogy and observing how Chewbacca interacted with the rest of the characters, I realized that on more than one occasion he was basically used for comic relief with Han. Even during some of the battle scenes he seems to be fumbling around a bit. As a kid, I definitely remember thinking of him as a major force to be reckoned with. Therefore, I decided I wanted to depict “Chewie” as one bad dude; kicking ass and taking names. Endor came to mind as an appropriate environment, with Chewbacca gliding down a fallen tree, about to attack a couple of unsuspecting storm troopers.”
This will definitely go down as one of my favorites as I love Kelly’s style. Some people have compared him to Bill Plympton in the past, but I really think Rich’s work stands on its own merit. We are also beginning to get into the major characters and Chewbacca is undoubtedly one of the most important in the STAR WARS Universe. This poster is on sale know but if you miss it online, we’ll have a few for the Austin crowd in the store.

Awesome.
Purchased!!!! I really like this print. Great work.
I love this more every time I look at it, and I can’t wait to hang it on the wall.
Anyone know where i can purchase past prints at? I am looking for Olly Moss Evil Dead. I know it’s a longshot but maybe someone who reads this can point me in the right direction.
Love this one. A very enthusiastic +1 here.
@Frank: Mondo prints are limited editions so once they sell out that’s that.
The only place to score past prints is on the secondary market (eBay, expressobeans, etc…)
Be prepared to pay though. That Evil Dead Olly Moss was one of the fastest Mondo sellouts ever and tends to fetch upwards of $400 these days.
Not the biggest fan of this one in the series but I’m curious as to why I’m not getting email updates now when the posters go on sale? Have these stopped?
@IronJaiden: Yea i know getting the print from this site was not going to happen. I was hoping someone could tell me other sites besides ebay that sell prints. You mentioned a site called expressobeans i’ll check them out. What else ya got?
@Frank: I’d say gigposters is another great place to grab prints but not secondary market alamo posters. Gigposters is more for snagging, well, gig posters from the artists themselves. Also when you miss out on a print it’s a good idea to keep an eye out for the artist themselves selling their own copies a bit down the road. In this case Olly did indeed sell his copies on his site a while back. They sold out just as quick but it was a way for collectors to try again for it.
I’ll always say check expressobeans first before eBay. It’s a solid community of collectors (junkies) so feel free to stick around and post in the forums while you’re there.
