If you’re not familiar with Horkey’s work, it’s important to realize that he DOES NOT use a computer. These posters are all drawn by hand and here is the rough sketch that he sent over a couple of weeks ago to show us what he had in mind…

  2. BAKUMAN says:

So happy I go a crack at the True Grit Variant. That sold out quick though. It helped too that I wasn’t competing against that many star war nerds this time around. Keep up the good shit Justin. Ignore the haters please and continue to do what you do.

One day I’d love to shake your hand – you do an awesome job! Haters just love to hate, but we love you and the awesome stuff you put out! I can see why SO MANY artists want to work with Mondo – the response is simply overwhelming. I can’t wait to buy more posters from you. Kudos man! Have a terrific holiday!

  7. Fox says:

Weird, a series of positive, civil responses. Merry Christmas Mondo, I hope you get a chance to take a well deserved break (and give us print hunters one as well).

  8. JB says:

    +1 regular

    Can’t wait to see it.

Take a nice break over the holidays (my wallet needs it, too).

  9. Dw Dunphy says:

This thread is particularly civil, and thank goodness for that. I only wish that my browser had gotten the e-mail to me sooner. It is 4:23 and I only received the e-mail for the True Grit poster five minutes ago. Now they’re all gone.

But you know what? That’s the way it goes. Here’s to a 2011 full of great prints, cheers to the lucky ones, peace to those who might miss out and hopefully a moment of contemplation for those who are in it only for the resale market.

    And to all, “wha’ hoppen?!”

  10. iano-beano says:

    So good it hurts!
Keep on keeping on, Justin, Mitch & Rob.
Bought this on a whim because I love the novel, will catch the movie after the festivus break.
(14th Jan opening for UK screenings)
    Happy holidaze to all!

I missed out on this one and that is OK! I know that I am not going to get every one of these posters and perhaps that makes me even more grateful for the ones that I have secured over the past six months. Thank you for your commitment to quality and value! I truly appreciate the beauty and incomparable detail on so many of these pieces. Keep it up and know that all the FUers will eventually F-off!

Thanks again for the great products!

+1 on the variant. I’m new to this whole game. It started with the Star Wars posters and has branched out to so much more. I’m amazed at how passionate the community can be, although I must admit, I myself am turning into a hardcore collector with each new drop (I swear I’m getting grey hairs from some of them). While my wallet may not like you, I’d like to say to you Justin that you do an amazing job each and every week. The next time I’m in town I’d also like to shake your hand.

  13. Tapecat says:

    +1 LOVE IT!!!!!!!
So Glad I got in and can’t WAIT to get it in me grubby mitts!

  14. John says:

    Justin & Mondo Crew,

Just wanted to wish you a happy & healthy holiday season. You guys(& gals) have done an amazing job this year bringing us so many top notch releases..I have read feedback left here and on other sites regarding the Olly Moss/Star Wars Release and it angers me as a fan to know so many people have such venomous feelings and ill will towards you and everyone who works at Mondotees
Does it suck that many didn’t get prints?…sure it does!..but w/ 400 copies available for each print(and fewer available for sale) and thousands trying to get them there is no way to satisfy the demand and I know that the low run is what helped fuel the fire in people wanting them. I appareciate the fact that you’ve been open and honest with people regading this, and are constantly trying to improve not only the website but the the company on a whole. I too have been shut out on previous releases, and of course it stings when it happens, but I am aware of that this is the case on any poster/print that not only drops here, but on any site which I guess only makes it that more worthwhile when I do secure a print. Anyway, keep up the great work and know that there are far more folks out here who appreciate the hard work and time you put in to make us drool at the many items you have offered, than the folks who spew out negative crap and tell you to go to hell cause they couldn’t get a print 20,000 other people were trying to get at the same time

    Best,

  15. Angry Hamster says:

The reason the comments are so civil is because they’re moderating them, and only letting the glowing reviews from those lucky few who got the print see the light of day. Funny how it immediately sold out, then those same prints started showing up on ebay for 2 or 3 times what Mondo was selling them as.

  16. Justin says:

    Angry Hamster-

We let everything post to the blog. I don’t feel like I need to delete negative comments. Everything that had been written has been posted.

  17. iron jaiden says:

Yeah dude the reason we’re being civil is because there isn’t a reason to be anything but civil. That’s how it usually is around here. You noobs need to learn that.

  18. Peter says:

Justin and the mondo team — thanks for all your hard work in putting out these amazing prints. Can’t wait to hang the True Grit print in my office. Happy Holidays! Peter
